    Hi,

Please tell us the steps you taken to create excel file or any more information which can help us to understand the issue better.

I can just suggest you to delete the Excel file and create it again on your project folder directory and then refresh the left module of the Eclipse IDE and see if your newly created excel file is displayed. Open it and see if this fix your issue.

    Hi,

Frankly speaking I do not have a clue of your problem but we often face some totally unexpected issues. It is better to try different things to resolve it.

    1) May be the Excel file is open on the background due to which you are not able to delete the Excel file. Try Ctrl + Alt + Del and see if it has any open process, if yes then remove it and try deleting the file again.

    2) Try deleting it from the Hard Drive location.

    3) Most of the issues with eclipse resolves when you close it and reopen it. It is like old scooter, tilt it to 60% before starting it:).

    4) Try creating a new Excel file from Hard Drive location of the package folder and see if it works.

I am sure of one thing that it is nothing to do with adding POI jars.

    Hi Samanta,

I am sorry that I can not be a help in your issue. But if I were you, I would have checked the Eclipse version, re-install Eclipse, windows version.

Have you tried creating a new Excel at the directory location of your package, is it working from there, if you directly open the Excel from its location, not from Eclipse IDE. If it is working that way, then there is no need to open it from Eclipse, as I have never used Excel in Eclipse, I always open it from folder path.

Again it is nothing to do with Jars file.

    Hi Jagadeesh,

I haven’t done any coding yet. I just added an Excel file in Eclipse and when I open it from project explorer of Eclipse, its blank with no cells, no rows and columns.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I have downloaded the Apache POI jar files and then added them to the project library of Eclipse.  In Eclipse I created a package named “testData” . Then created a new file by right clicking on the package and saved it as TestData.xlsx. When I tried to open it, it was blank with no rows and columns in it. No cells were displayed and unable to edit the file. I tried to delete it and re-create it but had the same issue. Appreciate if you could help me out with this issue.

Thank you for the reply. I still have the same issue. It has not yet been resolved. I am wondering if I have downloaded the correct jar files or not. Can you please explain me the process of adding the jar files. I’ll tell you the procedure that I followed. I’ve downloaded the zip folder “poi-bin-3.10.1-20140818.zip ( 23MB, signed)” from the following link “http://poi.apache.org/download.html#POI-3.10.1”. I found 13 jar files. I’ve added all the jar files to the project library.
Is this the right procedure of adding jars? And is that the correct zip folder that should be downloaded?
